Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer in San Carlos, CA. You will perform unarmed patrols at transit sites, provide customer service, deter incidents, and report security concerns. The role offers a flexible schedule with Saturday and Sunday shifts and a paid hourly rate of $24.90.

Ideal candidates are 18+ with a HS diploma and able to pass a background check and drug screen. A valid driver's license is required for driving roles.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation as required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license when driving positions exist.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to transit riders, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency responses.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative spaces, and perimeters.
• Respond to incidents and service disruptions in a calm, problem-solving manner following reporting procedures.
• Monitor access points and assist with authorized movement while deterring unauthorized entry.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with dispatch and responders.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to transit riders, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, administrative spaces, and surrounding perimeters to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and assist with the orderly flow of authorized personnel and visitors while helping to deter unauthorized entry and prohibited activity.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with dispatch, site representatives, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
