Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer (Part Time Unarmed Patrol) in SAN JOSE, CA. You will monitor galleries, public spaces, and surrounding areas to deter incidents and provide excellent customer service. The role emphasizes visibility, safety, and collaboration with site contacts.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to museum visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout galleries, public areas, offices, entrances, exterior grounds, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with entry procedures, and report unusual conditions, suspicious behavior, or policy violations to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and escalation procedures.
• Support the protection of artwork, exhibits, property, and museum operations by maintaining detailed activity logs, completing incident reports, and communicating clearly with Allied Universal leadership and client representatives.

• Sat 08:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
