Job summary

Allied Universal in Miami, FL is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer to patrol a premier retail location. You will provide a visible presence, monitor access points, assist guests, and respond to incidents while upholding our customer-service focused standards.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required per federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal may consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail and shopping district environment.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout retail areas, common spaces, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, providing assistance, directions, and a professional presence for guests and personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to supervisors, property representatives, and/or emergency responders as needed.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
