Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Preparedness in Reston, VA. This role offers fixed shifts with flexibility to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform.

You will provide customer service at a technology data center, perform unarmed patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and complete shift reports.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors at a technology data center by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the data center campus, including buildings and access points.
• Monitor access control points and verify credentials; report unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations following escalation and reporting procedures.
• Complete accurate activity reports and shift communications to support a professional, customer-focused environment.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Preparedness in Reston, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $26.06 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Mon 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors at a technology data center by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the data center campus, including buildings, access points, perimeter areas, parking areas, and critical infrastructure locations.
• Monitor access control points and verify credentials in accordance with site‑specific requirements; report unauthorized access attempts and/or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications while supporting a professional, customer‑focused environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
