Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time in Herndon, VA. This role offers reliable, flexible hours with the option to pick up additional shifts, and a pay rate of $21.05 per hour.

You’ll operate at an aerospace and defense site with fixed anchor shifts and a program to earn more by taking extra shifts across sites. The position supports part-time employment with potential progression to a full-time schedule up to 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required prior to employment.
• Valid driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials in accordance with site procedures; maintain awareness of visitor, contractor, and delivery activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, patrol records, and incident documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Customer Service Patrol in Herndon, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.05 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 12:30 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sun: 12:30 AM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
