Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Mobility in Reston, VA. This role offers reliable, fixed anchor shifts with opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You will provide customer service, perform routine patrols, monitor access, and respond to incidents. The position emphasizes safety, professionalism, and flexibility to scale to more hours when available.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Background check and drug screen are required by policy.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds and access to a computer/tablet is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology and media location by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, access points, parking areas, and the business perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, reporting concerns per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; document observations and complete incident reports.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, guests, and Allied Universal leadership to maintain a welcoming environment.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Mobility in Reston, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $23.11 / Hour

Job Schedule

Sat 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a technology and media location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, access points, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report access‑control concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and complete required incident reports.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel, guests, and Allied Universal leadership while supporting a welcoming and orderly environment.

Minimum Requirements

• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
