Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Jacksonville, FL to provide customer service, patrol assigned areas, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professional calm. The role emphasizes visible presence, safety, and collaboration with site personnel within technology, media, and telecom environments.

Requirements include at least 6 months in security, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to use computers/tablets.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and guests at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, production areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, and security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report access‑control concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; document observations and complete incident reports according to Allied Universal and site requirements.
• Maintain a professional presence while communicating clearly with site personnel and responding to security‑related requests in a timely manner.

What You'll Do:
