Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) at a utility location in Oakland, CA. You will monitor premises, control access, respond to alarms, and provide friendly customer service to employees and visitors.

This role offers a flexible schedule with overnight shifts Tue and Fri, and opportunities to use Smart Tools to claim additional shifts, plus training and advancement opportunities in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation and drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply; valid driver’s license for driving roles only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors at a utility operations location.
• Conduct regular/unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, and perimeter to identify hazards.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization per site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies in a calm, solution-oriented manner.
• Document patrols and incidents in clear, timely reports.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a utility location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, respond to alarms and access-control needs, and provide outstanding customer service. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $27.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors at a utility operations location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and potential hazards.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities in clear and timely reports.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
