Job summary

Allied Universal in West Warwick, RI is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time, Unarmed) to protect clients across industries. You will monitor assigned areas, maintain a visible presence, and report security concerns while delivering excellent customer service and clear communication.

Position offers flexible scheduling through our Claim a Shift platform. Pay rate is $16.50 per hour, with weekend night shifts (Sat and Sun 11:00 PM–7:00 AM) included as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check in accordance with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a telecommunications location by following security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and report issues to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations per established protocols and contact emergency services as needed.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and daily activities in required reports and systems.

Job Schedule:

• Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, parking areas, building perimeter, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site policies, and report access control issues or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and contacting emergency services and/or site leadership as needed.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately in required reports, logs, and/or electronic systems.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
