Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer in Sterling, VA. You will patrol, monitor access, and respond to incidents at a technology, media, and telecommunications site, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a secure environment.

The pay rate is $23.18 per hour with a flexible DayTime schedule including overnight shifts. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, pass background checks, and meet job requirements.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Experience with alarm panels preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Job Schedule: DayTime Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and the business perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials in accordance with site procedures, and report access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports while supporting a professional, customer-focused environment around sensitive technology infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
