Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) in Lansing, MI. You will monitor assigned areas, perform routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to deter security incidents, while delivering excellent customer service to shoppers and staff.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, visitors, and staff by following security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and vehicle patrols throughout the retail location.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to store personnel or leadership.
• Respond calmly to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other events following site procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor and vendor screening, and monitor designated entrances and exits.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to customers, visitors, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter areas, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate store personnel and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents, customer disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures.
• Assist with access control, visitor and vendor screening, and monitoring designated entrances and exits as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
