Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Roving Patrol in Lansing, MI to serve and safeguard clients in Retail/Malls and beyond. You can build a flexible schedule and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail location, you will conduct patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, assist customers and colleagues, observe and report activity, and communicate clearly while supporting a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Background check conducted per federal/state/local laws
• Drug screen required unless prohibited by law
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local law
• Valid driver's license required for driving positions only

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store staff by following security procedures
• Respond to incidents and customer concerns calmly and escalate per site procedures
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location to deter unauthorized activity
• Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns
• Monitor access points and support security procedures for deliveries and visitors

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon10:00 AM - 05:00 PMThur05:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site-specific procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and support security-related procedures for deliveries, vendors, employees, and visitors as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
