Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a Part-Time Unarmed Patrol in Columbus, OH. You will protect clients across diverse industries, maintain a visible security presence, and provide excellent customer service while following site procedures.

You will work a Part Time schedule with shifts including daytime and weekend hours; prior security experience is helpful, but training is provided. Allied Universal emphasizes a culture of integrity, reliability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted per federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where legally permitted.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and notify appropriate contacts or responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access by verifying credentials, directing visitors, and documenting entries/exits.
• Complete detailed reports and incident documentation per site requirements.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, process areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, directing visitors and contractors, and documenting entries, exits, and other required activity.
• Complete detailed reports, patrol logs, and incident documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
