Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer in Chicago, IL. You will patrol and monitor commercial real estate sites, deter security incidents, and provide excellent customer service to tenants and visitors.

The role offers flexible day-time and night-time shifts and opportunities to engage with our Shift Claim platform. Responsibilities include responding to incidents, documenting activities, and coordinating with property management and responders.

Qualifications

• CPR certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• Valid driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel while following site-specific procedures and security policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial real estate buildings, parking areas, entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner, coordinating with management and emergency responders.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, maintaining clear communication with leadership and site contacts.

What You'll Do

• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of commercial real estate buildings, parking areas, entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the property, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solvIng manner, coordinating with property management and emergency responders when appropriate.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, maintaining clear communication with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
