Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Access Observation in Chicago, IL. You will provide guest and tenant support, perform patrols, monitor access points, and respond to concerns with professionalism.

The role offers flexible scheduling and a focus on safety across Retail/Malls and other sites. As an entry to mid-level security professional, you will work part-time with pay based on an hourly rate, and you’ll have opportunities to learn and grow within a leading security

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by policy.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local law.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests, tenants, vendors, and employees by following security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols to deter incidents and identify concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas; report suspicious behavior and maintenance issues.
• Respond calmly to incidents and follow escalation and reporting procedures.
• Document daily activities, patrols, incidents, and observations accurately.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests, tenants, vendors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout retail, dining, public, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas; observe activity and report suspicious behavior, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, guest concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Document daily activities, patrols, incidents, and security-related observations accurately and completely.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
