Job summary

Allied Universal in Miami, FL is seeking a Security Officer for a part-time, unarmed computer patrol role at a government location. You will provide security, maintain a visible presence, monitor access, and respond to incidents while delivering excellent customer service.

The position offers flexible day shifts, with a pay rate of $22.53 per hour. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a background check and drug screen will be conducted as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required by Allied Universal.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government location while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to identify hazards and report concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity per site policies, verify entry, and direct to public areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and emergencies calmly and report as directed.
• Prepare clear activity and incident reports and maintain logs for patrols and events.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific policies, verifying authorized entry and directing individuals to appropriate public service areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and public agencies as directed.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and maintain required logs for patrols, access-related events, and security-related observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
