Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and notify appropriate personnel per site procedures.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify entry credentials, and document visitor activity and incidents.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings while carrying assigned equipment in accordance with laws and Allied Universal policies.

As a Security Officer Armed Full Time Patrol in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $22.26 / Hour

Job Schedule:

This is a full-time position. You can expect to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. The schedule for this position has not been assigned yet. If you are selected to move forward, your schedule will be determined as you progress through the hiring, onboarding, and training process. Your manager will work with you to assign a schedule based on business needs before your start date.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or public service agencies as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify authorized entry credentials, and document visitor activity, incidents, and unusual conditions in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings while carrying assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, post orders, and Allied Universal policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess a college degree.
• Possess a corrections officer license.
• Possess a DD214 with honorable discharge, an associate degree, 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
