Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for TWIC access control in New York, NY. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and patrol facilities to deter incidents while delivering professional customer service.

This role offers flexible daytime shifts and growth opportunities within a national security leader. A TSA TWIC credential is required, and you must be at least 18 years old; background checks and drug screening apply.

Qualifications

• Must have a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) issued by TSA.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility operations personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, issue visitor passes and/or access devices, and maintain entry/exit records.
• Respond to access-control alarms, unauthorized-entry attempts, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner; notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned facilities and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized access and identify concerns.
• Prepare clear shift reports documenting access activity, incidents, observations, and actions taken.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility operations personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, issue visitor passes and/or access devices, and maintain accurate entry and exit records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-control alarms, unauthorized-entry attempts, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned utility facilities, entry points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Prepare clear, timely reports and shift logs documenting access activity, incidents, observations, and actions taken.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by TSA.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
