What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors at a utility location by carrying out access control procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor access records, and report access discrepancies according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting events as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Maintain awareness of utility‑related operational areas and follow established procedures for restricted areas, deliveries, and employee or contractor movement.

Minimum Requirements

• At this site there are limited on‑site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
