Allied Universal, a leading security services provider, seeks a Part Time Security Officer Access Authorization in the Bronx, NY. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, log visitors, and deter incidents while delivering excellent customer service in a professional environment.

Hours are scheduled on a part-time basis with pay between $18.30 and $19.30 per hour. A background check and drug screen are required, with licensing as applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background investigation and drug screen required by law and policy.
• Guard card or license preferred where applicable.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorized entry permissions, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and direct individuals to appropriate locations in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, gates, facilities, and perimeter areas to identify and report unauthorized access, unusual activity, and security-related concerns.
• Assist with maintaining accurate access-control records, including badge issuance, key control, and incident documentation, in accordance with client and Allied Universal procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
