• Verify credentials, access authorizations, and required documentation for individuals entering restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, reporting observations to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, access points, terminals, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.

As a Security Officer Part Time Terminal Screener in Baltimore, MD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.63 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat06:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to guests, crew members, and visitors by carrying out screening procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at cruise operations locations.
• Screen passengers, baggage, supplies, and/or authorized personnel using established screening equipment and procedures; identify and report prohibited items, irregularities, or policy violations.
• Verify credentials, access authorizations, and required documentation for individuals entering restricted areas, following applicable site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, promptly communicating observations and concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, access points, terminals, and surrounding perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and support security‑related operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
