Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part Time Security Screening Officer in Linden, NJ. You will monitor access points, screen personnel and visitors, verify credentials, and maintain a secure environment at a logistics location.

Opportunity to earn additional shifts through our Claim a Shift platform. As a part-time Screener, you will support daily operations with a visible presence, customer-focused communication, and adherence to site procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required under federal/state/local laws.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees while following site procedures.
• Screen personnel, visitors, and vehicles entering designated areas and verify credentials.
• Monitor access points and report security observations to relevant personnel.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of facility and perimeter as location requires.

Pay Rate: $18.70 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and/or employees while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen personnel, visitors, and/or vehicles entering designated areas in accordance with established procedures, including verifying credentials and directing individuals as needed.
• Monitor access points, loading areas, and package handling locations for unusual activity and report observations to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business areas, and perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
