Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screener in Somerset, NJ. The role offers a fixed anchor shift with a six‑month commitment and eligibility to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings.

The position pays $18.00 per hour and includes options for flexible scheduling across multiple sites. You will perform screening of people, packages, and deliveries, maintain credentials, and respond to incidents while providing courteous customer service on-site.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees while carrying out site‑specific screening procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals, packages, and/or deliveries in accordance with established site procedures; report prohibited items, irregularities, or access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials or authorization as assigned, and maintain accurate screening‑related documentation.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑ solving manner and communicate observations to supervisors and/or emergency personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the distribution location and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screener in Somerset, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeWed04:00 PM - 12:00 AMThur08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
