Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer for the Ashland, VA location. You will patrol, monitor access, and respond to incidents while delivering excellent customer service.

The role offers a flexible schedule with daytime and evening shifts. Candidates must meet minimum age and education requirements and pass background and drug screening checks.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, loading zones, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Monitor access activity and verify visitor, contractor, and delivery credentials in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and documenting actions taken.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, incident records, and shift communications.
