Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Unarmed Patrol Visitor Guidance) in Ashburn, VA. You will protect clients across commercial real estate locations, patrol interiors and exteriors, monitor access points, and provide outstanding customer service to tenants and visitors.

The role offers a flexible part-time schedule with pay at $23.36 per hour, and opportunities to use our Shift-claim platform to pick additional shifts.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exteriors, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access control points, visitor activity, alarms, cameras, and other site systems; document observations and report incidents.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner following site procedures.
• Complete accurate activity logs and shift handoff communications, maintaining a professional presence on the property.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points, visitor activity, alarms, cameras, and other site systems as assigned; document observations and report incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff communications while maintaining a professional presence throughout the property.
