Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time in Houston, TX. This flexible position offers anchor shifts with an option to pickup additional shifts to increase earnings, creating a reliable base schedule and potential full‑time growth.

You will perform security procedures, respond to incidents, patrol sites, monitor access, and maintain logs while upholding a welcoming and professional environment for visitors and staff.

Qualifications

• Security-related experience (minimum 6 months).
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required, per policy.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public by following site-specific security procedures and emergency response plans.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and according to established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to report hazards.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and maintain logs and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with government personnel, first responders, and the public to maintain a safe environment.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry as directed, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with government personnel, first responders, and the public while supporting a welcoming and orderly environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
