Job summary

Allied Universal in Jamaica, NY, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) to monitor and patrol assigned areas, deter incidents, and provide friendly customer service. You will respond to incidents, document details, and maintain logs per site procedures.

The position offers a Day Time schedule on Fridays and Saturdays with a pay rate of $18.87 per hour. Requirements include at least one year of security experience, a HS diploma, and a background check, with CPR preferred.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience required.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• License requirements subject to local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and where appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting and reporting relevant details according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, surrounding grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directing guests, and report suspicious behavior, property concerns, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

What You’ll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
