Job summary

Allied Universal in Washington, DC is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to patrol and protect tenants, visitors, and staff at a commercial property. You will provide customer service, monitor access points, and respond to incidents during night shifts.

The role emphasizes a visible presence, clear communication, and reporting of security concerns. A high school diploma and 18+ (21+ for armed roles) may apply; a guard card/license preferred; computer literacy helpful.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and property management personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control processes, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, tenant concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout commercial property common areas, parking facilities, building perimeters, and other assigned locations to help identify unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, deliveries, and contractor entry in accordance with property policies and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Communicate professionally with building occupants, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership while reporting maintenance concerns, hazards, and security-related issues observed during patrols.

• Mon: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
