Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced (Part Time) in Reston, VA. This role provides reliable, fixed shift hours at an assigned site with opportunities to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform.

The position emphasizes customer service at a front desk with access control, visitor screening, and coordination with security teams. CPR/First Aid and a guard license are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a technology and telecommunications site by carrying out site-specific security procedures and policies.
• Staff the front desk, greet and screen visitors, verify identification and access, issue visitor credentials, and maintain visitor records.
• Monitor entry points, reception-area activity, alarms, cameras, and other security systems; report unusual activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner, coordinating with relevant personnel or emergency responders.
• Assist with communications, directions, and admin front-desk duties while maintaining a professional presence to deter unauthorized access.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Front Desk Credentialing in Reston, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $30.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Staff the front desk, greet and screen visitors, verify identification and access authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate visitor records.
• Monitor entry points, reception‑area activity, alarms, cameras, and other assigned security‑related systems; report unusual activity according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, coordinating with appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Assist with communications, directions, and administrative front‑desk duties while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
