Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Mobile Unit in Sparks, NV. You will serve and safeguard clients in utilities and other sectors with a flexible schedule and the Claim a Shift platform.

As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a vital utilities location, you will monitor access points, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering professional customer service.

Qualifications

• Guard card or license preferred.
• Experience in a primarily driving post preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and utility customers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, service calls, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain logs, reports, and other required documentation.
• Report hazards, equipment concerns, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel while supporting continuity of utility operations.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate logs, reports, and other required documentation.
• Report observed hazards, equipment concerns, suspicious activity, and policy violations to appropriate personnel while supporting continuity of utility operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience in a primarily driving post is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
