Job summary

Allied Universal in Sparks, NV is seeking a Security Officer Patrol Computer Operations to protect a leading technology data center. You will monitor access, conduct patrols, and respond to alarms while delivering courteous customer service.

This full-time role requires 18+ (21+ for armed) and a high school diploma; CPR/First Aid and Guard Card are preferred. The job includes shift-based night hours and a competitive pay rate of $25.21 per hour, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Basic computer/tablet use preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Access control/badge experience preferred.
• Guard Card/License preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors at a technology data center per site procedures and access-control requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the data center campus and surrounding areas, reporting unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and enforce visitor and contractor entry procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and escalate per site procedures.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoffs for leadership.

• Mon: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Tue: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sun: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors at a technology data center by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the data center campus, interior areas, perimeter, parking areas, and critical infrastructure locations while reporting unusual conditions or security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and follow visitor and contractor entry procedures to support controlled access to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoffs while communicating relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
