Job summary

Allied Universal in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Part‑Time Security Officer focused on loss prevention observation. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, deter incidents, provide exceptional customer service to clients, visitors and employees, and respond to security concerns with integrity.

Qualifications

• Loss prevention experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by federal, state and local laws; drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Monitor access to the location, verify credentials, and maintain visitor/incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies with clear communication to responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and deter unauthorized activity.
• Follow site-specific protocols for deliveries, contractors, and after-hours access.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 12:30 PM - 09:00 PM
• Sat 01:30 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sun 11:00 AM - 08:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access to the location, verify credentials as required, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; communicate observations to appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, and technology‑focused work areas, reporting potential concerns and helping to deter unauthorized activity.
• Support a professional environment by following Allied Universal and site‑specific protocols, including procedures for deliveries, contractors, and after‑hours access.

Minimum Requirements:

• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
