Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Los Angeles, CA. This unarmed patrol and loss prevention role offers fixed hours with opportunities to pick up additional shifts, designed to provide reliable income and hands-on security experience.

You will perform customer service, monitor access, respond to incidents, and maintain site safety at a chemical and petrochemical location, while meeting licensing and background requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and following site protocols.
• Conduct regular/unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials, and document activity as required.
• Observe and report unusual conditions, hazards, or maintenance concerns to site contacts and leadership.

Pay Rate: $23.02 / Hour

Sat 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, access points, parking areas, process-adjacent areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access control points, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor, vehicle, and contractor activity according to site requirements.
• Observe and report unusual conditions, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
