Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time Healthcare Patrol in Westwood, NJ to protect patients, visitors, and staff. The role combines patient-focused service with proactive security patrols in a healthcare setting, offering flexible scheduling and shift options through our Claim a Shift platform.

Responsibilities include responding to incidents, patrolling facilities, monitoring access points, and documenting events.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• 6 months to 1 year of service in a healthcare or medical-related field is required,
• COVID-19 vaccine and flu shot must be up to date to work in a medical-field environment.
• Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Subject to a background investigation as per federal/state/local laws.
• A drug screen will be conducted where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may vary by state/local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, healthcare location policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and escorts as assigned, and report unusual conditions or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
• Complete required incident reports, patrol logs, and other documentation accurately and in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• At least 6months-1 year of service in a healthcare or medical-related field is required.
• Must have updated vaccinations for covid vaccine and flu shot is required to work at medical-field.
• Possession of a Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
