Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Part Time – Gated Community Entry Control in Newport Coast, CA. You will manage entry points, verify access, assist residents and visitors, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment.

This part-time role offers flexible shifts via our Claim a Shift platform. You will help deter incidents, respond to incidents, and work with a team that puts people first. Shift schedule includes evenings and weekends as posted.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, vendors, and guests while following access-control procedures.
• Monitor entry/exit points and verify authorization for residents, guests, deliveries, and vendors; maintain visitor/access records.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and notify appropriate personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular patrols of residential areas, parking, entry points, and perimeter; report security concerns.
• Maintain a professional residential environment by enforcing access-control procedures and communicating with site management.

As an Access Control Officer at a residential location, you will manage entry points, verify authorized access, and assist residents, visitors, and vendors with professionalism and care. You will remain visible to help deter incidents, communicate clearly, and support a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, vendors, and/or guests while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization for residents, guests, deliveries, and vendors, and maintain accurate visitor and access records.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, parking areas, entry points, and the property perimeter to identify and report security-related concerns.
• Assist with maintaining a professional residential environment by observing site activity, enforcing access-control procedures, and communicating relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
