Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Greet visitors, manage access procedures, verify credentials, and direct individuals to offices or classrooms.
• Monitor entry area and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents calmly following site protocols and communicating with leadership as needed.
• Maintain visitor logs and incident records and assist the campus community.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri 10:30 AM - 08:00 PM
• Sun 10:30 AM - 05:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a higher education location.
• Serve as a professional front-desk presence by greeting visitors, managing access procedures, verifying credentials, and directing individuals to appropriate offices, classrooms, galleries, or other designated areas.
• Monitor the entry area, visitor activity, and security-related systems from a stationary post; report unusual conditions, access concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and communicating with Allied Universal leadership and campus representatives as needed.
• Maintain accurate visitor logs, incident documentation, and other required records while providing courteous assistance and information to the campus community.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
