Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time in Sterling, VA to provide reliable, flexible coverage at a designated site, with the potential to pick up additional shifts across multiple sites.

You will support access control, incident response, and patrols while maintaining logs and professional communication with site leadership. This role offers part-time hours with opportunities to grow toward full-time work.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the location by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and contractor entry, issuing temporary access credentials, and following established entry procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and completing required documentation.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, construction areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, access records, and incident reports while communicating professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Entry Authorization in Sterling, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $27.14 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 09:00 PM - 05:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
