Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Part Time Entry Authorization in Austin, TX to provide reliable, flexible hours at a designated site. The role includes access control, customer service, and incident response with opportunities to pick up additional shifts through the scheduling platform.

Pay rate is $22.00 per hour with a part-time schedule; you can scale to more shifts and build experience toward a full-time career with Allied Universal.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screen as per law.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while performing access-control procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, maintain visitor records, report access concerns.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow site-specific protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas to identify security risks.
• Prepare clear reports of incidents and access activities for leadership and site representatives.

As a Security Officer Part Time Entry Authorization in Austin, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeTue10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or authorization, maintain visitor records, and report access-related concerns according to established procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and following site-specific response protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned government facility areas and perimeter locations to help identify unauthorized access, hazards, or unusual activity.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, access-control activities, and policy violations for Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
