Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and access-control requirements.
• Monitor and control entry/exit points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and maintain access-control records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and communicate observations to site contacts and leadership.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas and perimeters; report conditions and potential violations.
• Observe and report unusual activity or hazards to protect personnel, property, and operations.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Specialist in Houston, TX, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $14.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeWed11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, access‑control requirements, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and maintain accurate access‑control records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, promptly communicating observations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, building perimeters, gates, and access points; working environments and conditions may vary throughout the chemical/petrochemical location.
• Observe and report unusual activity, unauthorized access attempts, hazardous conditions, and potential policy violations to help protect personnel, property, and operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
