Allied Universal in Ladson, SC is seeking a Part Time Security Officer (Entrance Validation) to monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage badge access, and provide courteous service to visitors and team members at a fast-paced logistics site.

You will perform routine patrols, respond calmly to incidents, support site safety procedures, and help deter unauthorized activity while upholding the company values of integrity and people-first service.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience are preferred.
• Age: 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law; drug screen required.
• License requirements may apply by state/local laws.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points at a logistics and distribution location, verify credentials and authorization, control entry and exit of employees, visitors, contractors, and commercial vehicles, and maintain accurate access records.
• Screen and direct delivery drivers and freight-related traffic according to site procedures, communicate entry requirements, and coordinate with appropriate site contacts regarding arrivals and access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, access-control exceptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
