Allied Universal in Austin, TX is seeking a Part Time Security Officer for an educational facility. You will serve and safeguard students, staff and visitors while maintaining a welcoming campus environment and high service standards.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher education location, you will monitor areas, ensure safety, and respond to incidents with professionalism. The schedule includes day and night shifts with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen may be required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required depending on state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner per campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, facility issues, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents and patrol activities accurately and communicate information to site leadership or responding agencies.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, classrooms, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, facility issues, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or responding agencies.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
