Allied Universal in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced to provide reliable screening and customer service at a logistics and distribution site. This role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts through the scheduling platform, helping you earn more while gaining hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Guard Card/License preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screening required by employment.
• Driver's license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific screening procedures and policies.
• Screen individuals, packages, and/or vehicles entering or exiting the facility; verify credentials and direct visitors.
• Monitor access points, shipping and receiving areas, and screening equipment; report suspicious activity or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents calmly, following escalation and communication procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the site; environments may vary by client site.

As a Security Officer Part Time Document Examiner in Gaithersburg, MD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.43 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Sat 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and employees by carrying out site‑specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen individuals, packages, and/or vehicles entering or exiting the facility in accordance with established procedures; verify required credentials and direct visitors appropriately.
• Monitor access points, shipping and receiving areas, and screening equipment; report suspicious activity, prohibited items, and policy violations to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established escalation and communication procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, perimeter, parking areas, and loading areas; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Minimum Requirements

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
