Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Rockville, MD. This role offers reliable hours at an assigned site with the possibility to pick up extra shifts to earn more.

Pay rate is $22.09 per hour with a fixed anchor shift and options to claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform, supporting a path toward a full-time schedule if desired.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public at a government location while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures, and report access-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation; communicate observations and concerns to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.

As a Security Officer Building Patrol Part Time in Rockville, MD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.09 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 12:00 PM - 08:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
