Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Hampstead, MD. The role features fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform, offering flexibility and income stability.

You will deliver customer service, monitor access points, deter unauthorized activity, and document shift events in accordance with site procedures, contributing to a safe and secure environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and escalate matters per site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, parking areas, entry points, the business, and the perimeter.
• Monitor access points and observe vehicle, visitor, and personnel movements per site procedures.
• Complete required reports, logs, and shift documentation and communicate activity to leadership.

As a Security Officer Part Time Patrol Assessment in Hampstead, MD, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $15.70 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 02:00 PM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, parking areas, entry points, the business, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe the movement of vehicles, deliveries, visitors, and personnel in accordance with site‑specific procedures.
• Complete required reports, logs, and shift documentation accurately and communicate relevant activity to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
