Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Jackson, MS. This role offers fixed shifts on Saturdays and Sundays with the possibility to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform to boost earnings.

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, following site procedures and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, facilities, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized entry.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications.

• Sat: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Sun: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site‑specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site procedures and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, facilities, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security‑related concerns.
• Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
