Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site‑specific procedures and security‑related protocols at a government office location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor credentials, and maintain logs and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner and contact appropriate personnel.
• Assist with emergency response activities, crowd management, and orderly movement during evacuations or site events.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time NYS Licensed Unarmed Patrol in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon08:00 AM - 04:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Monitor access points, verify visitor credentials as directed, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency responders when required.
• Assist with emergency response activities, crowd management, and the orderly movement of visitors and staff during evacuations or other site events.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security‑related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
