Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government office location by following site procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, service areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas, to identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify authorization as required, and help maintain orderly entry and exit procedures in accordance with site policies and applicable laws.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activity as required.
• Maintain required firearm qualifications, carry authorized equipment, and complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol in Staten Island, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon08:00 AM - 04:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
