Job summary

Allied Universal in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a part-time armed security officer to provide on-site protection for a utilities location, deliver customer service, and maintain a visible presence.

You will patrol, respond to incidents, monitor access, and document activities. Minimum requirements include 2+ years in law enforcement or similar, armed guard card, 21+ years old, and HS diploma.

Qualifications

• Possess 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, visitors, and/or the public while carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, grounds, perimeter areas, and critical infrastructure to help identify and report unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and potential hazards.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following site procedures and applicable laws regarding armed response.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, vehicle authorization, and visitor or contractor entry in accordance with site‑specific requirements.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and promptly; communicate relevant information to site contacts, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership.
