Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer in Huntsville, AL. The role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts to increase earnings. The position requires an armed officer with a valid DoD Secret Clearance and a concealed carry permit.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Background investigations will be conducted.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner and report observations.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of buildings, restricted areas, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for personnel, visitors, and vehicles entering controlled areas.
• Carry authorized firearms and equipment in accordance with laws and Allied Universal policies.

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSun06:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, communicating observations through established reporting channels.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, restricted areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for personnel, visitors, and vehicles entering controlled areas in accordance with site‑specific requirements.
• Carry authorized firearms and other assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security‑related supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security‑related experience.
• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
