Job summary

Allied Universal in Huntsville, AL seeks a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide dependable site coverage, armed patrols, and customer service to personnel and visitors. This position offers fixed anchor shifts with opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Pay rate is 19.53 per hour. Requirements include a valid driver's license, concealed carry permit, DoD Secret Clearance, high school diploma, and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, reporting observations through proper channels.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of buildings, restricted areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for personnel, visitors, and vehicles entering controlled areas.
• Carry authorized firearms and other assigned equipment per laws and site procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Driver Clearance Required in Huntsville, AL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.53 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Sun: 06:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, communicating observations through established reporting channels.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, restricted areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for personnel, visitors, and vehicles entering controlled areas in accordance with site‑specific requirements.
• Carry authorized firearms and other assigned equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security‑related supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security‑related experience.
• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
